In July 2011, health care activists around the country celebrated the 46th birthday of Medicare, the single payer program for seniors. In Portland,  Nurses for Single Payer members participated in an informational action along with Jobs with Justice and others, calling for “Medicare for All!“, otherwise known as Single Payer Health Care.  Pictured is “Big Nurse” who has attended many demonstrations around the state.
